At Bubbles & BEOs, we’re planners through and through—which means we’re always on the lookout for a reason to pop some champagne, throw on a theme, and summon the fun. So why wait for October when we can brew up a little mischief now? That’s right—it’s halfway to Halloween, and we say it’s time to let the cobwebs fly and the cauldrons bubble six months early.
Whether you're a Halloween head or just love a good excuse to throw a party, this is your official invitation to conjure up a festive night full of tricks, treats, and maybe a touch of hocus pocus. If you’re looking for even more ways to haunt your summer, head over to our Summerween blog post—because a little spooky season in July never hurt anybody.
You don’t need a full moon or a crypt full of props to set the scene—just a few spirited touches can turn your space from summer chic to spooky sleek.
Start by raiding your garage, attic, or secret stash of skeletons past. Got orange string lights? Perfect. That black lace table runner? Even better. Don’t be afraid to mix in Halloween classics with some DIY flair.
Below are a few of our favorite fang-tastic finds for your halfway haunt.
Dim the lights, add a little dry ice if you're feeling dramatic, and you’ve got yourself a bewitching backdrop in no time.
What’s a Halloween party—halfway or otherwise—without some deliciously themed treats and ghoul-tastic drinks? Here are a few eerie-easy ideas that are sure to satisfy your little monsters and your grown-up ghouls:
Spooky Snacks:
Jack-O’-Lantern Stuffed Peppers – Use orange bell peppers, carve them like pumpkins, and fill them with your favorite rice or taco mixture. So spooky. So good.
Monster Pizzas – Set up a make-your-own pizza station with olives for eyeballs, shredded cheese for cobwebs, and pepperoni fangs. A total scream!
Apple Monster Teeth – Slice apples, spread with peanut butter, and add mini marshmallows as teeth between two slices. Healthy-ish and hilariously creepy.
Bewitching Brews:
The Black Magic Margarita – A haunting twist on a classic, made with tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and a splash of cranberry—then add a drop of black food coloring for that eerie, midnight hue. Rim the glass with black salt and garnish with a gummy worm for a spellbinding sip.
Witch’s Blood Punch – Mix up vodka, cherry juice, cranberry juice, and lemon-lime soda with floating orange slices and plastic eyeballs for effect. Skip the vodka and you’ve got a perfect kid-friendly cauldron punch!
Bonus Idea: Vampire Sangria – Red wine, brandy, pomegranate juice, and chunks of blood-red fruit (like blackberries and plums) make this a sipper Dracula would raise a toast to.
From spooky snacks to chilling cocktails, there’s something on the menu for every monster, mummy, and mischief-maker.
Once the snacks are served and the lights are low, it’s time to cozy up for a movie marathon that would make even the Sanderson sisters proud. Light a fall-scented candle (yes, even in April), grab a blanket, and press play on one of these Halloween favorites:
Kid-Friendly & Family Fun:
Hocus Pocus (obviously)
Hotel Transylvania
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Funny Frights:
Beetlejuice
Ghostbusters
The Addams Family
Spooky Scares:
The Conjuring
The Haunting of Hill House (if you’re down for a series binge)
Hereditary (viewer beware 👀)
Whether you’re in the mood for laughs or screams, there’s something perfectly eerie for every kind of guest.
While we’re enjoying spring and looking forward to summer, basking in all its sunny glory, we’re also not mad about stirring up some spooky joy early. After all, life’s too short to wait for October when there’s fun to be had now.
So light those pumpkin candles, dust off your witches' hats, and raise a toast to halfway-to-Halloween—because the only thing better than Halloween... is celebrating it twice.
Until next time—stay spooky, stay creative, and never be afraid to throw a party just because.
